Puzzled by the high ratings. Biggest criticism is just that she is weak, and seemingly gullible. Seems to regard certain cases as an inconvenience, and tries to force parties to settle instead of doing her job. Had a very simple case in front of her that we ultimately won, but it dragged out a needlessly long time due to her indecision, gullibility, reluctance to bring down the hammer, and lack of industriousness in deciding motions. Very disappointing experience. Did not feel like I was litigating in a federal court.

This Judge does not believe any police officer ever did anything wrong-no matter what she is shown. If you have a civil rights case, avoid her like the plague

Non-lawyer here. Permit me to comment. I ended up on the wrong side of a lawsuit. This was an intimidating experience, although I felt not responsible. This judge was intelligent, understanding, and very competent. She didn't miss anything and is inspirational. We won our case, but I hope not to visit court again.

Recently had a white-collar telemarketing fraud sentencing in front of her, where the client entered a plea to 37-46 range. She had read the papers and gave us as much time as we needed. She is new to district court having been elevated from her long-time USMJ duties. She has been honed well during her many years as a MJ and unqualifiedly appears ready and fit for battle. In the end, she gave a one-third reduction from the minimum guideline range based upon a host of extraordinary 3553(a) circumstances besetting my 69-year old client. She Understood the law and her sentencing powers. Not afraid to exercise her Article III powers, despite being relatively new to the DJ bench. Gave a similar -- but greater -- variance to a co-defendant sentenced later in the day. It's so refreshing to appear before a court that understands that the government's unbridled quest for justice (retribution) must be tempered with compassion, humanity and common sense.

Why this Judge would insist on calling a plaintiff client against the wishes of his counsel to urge a settlement is inappropriate and in my opinion inexcusable. Particularly when the Magistrate was wrong on the law. Years of effort down the drain.

Judge Azrack is a terrific magistrate judge who should have had the word magistrate removed from her title years ago by being appointed to the district court. She is smart, fair, courteous and invariably gets it right. We could use more like her on the bench.
