Judge Johnson works relentlessly to serve justice and secure a fair outcome for all parties involved. In any context - ranging from his presiding over trials, to his management of settlement conferences, to his written opinions - Judge Johnson strives unwaveringly for perfection and, simply put, he excels. His uncanny perception abilities, epic brilliance, and encyclopedic command of the rules of procedure and evidence offer an unprecedented combination which truly facilitates the dispensing of justice. Judge Johnson allows each side to be heard; he is willing to change his mind if a party makes a convincing argument. He also possesses an excellent sense of humor and a model judicial temperament. He is a class act and fully deserves all the praise bestowed upon him.

Thoughtful, prepared and has read the brief, incuding the authorities, but does not pretend to know and is willing to ask questions. Can't ask for more - he is judicial and direct, so be prepared - he will be.

I was a pro se plantiff in a federal civil rights case. I was dilatory, I did not know the rules of evidence, and I knew nothing of courtroom procedure. Based on my experience and interactions with others in the courthouse, it is my belief that there is no better or fairer judge in that building than Jeffrey W. Johnson. His dedication to fairness, impartiality, and protecting the record are clear to anyone, legal training or not. I would recommend to any litigant, plantiff or defendant to stipulate to Judge Johnson - you will not be disappointed. I agree with all the comments posted thus far and actually used them in making the decision to request Judge Johnson.

He is the finest bench officer I have ever appeared in front of. He mastered all the complexities of our case, was decent and respectful to all lawyers involved on both sides, and he is a nice person to talk to during the breaks. He is truly fair and impartial, and allows each side to try their case. What more can you ask for?

Judge Johnson was one of the fairest jurists that I have ever observed conduct a trial. He was attentive, impartial and actually went out of his way to give the plaintiff (a mentally challenged young man) a scolding for misbehavior on the stand, but did it in a fatherly sort of way. It is a travesty that he has not yet been rewarded with a full judgeship for his intergrity and hard work.

It is a shame that he has not been elevated to a district Judge. Extremely bright and hard working. A pleasure to appear before.

Excellent Judge. Works hard to come to the right conclusion. He'll take his time to get it right, even if it takes a bit longer. Come prepared, however, as he has no tolerance for the excuse that someone didn't get around to reviewing their own file. I'd stipulate to use him over many of the district judges in the Central District.
