He is brilliant, in a very relaxed fashion. He is erudite with a sense of humor. Is it possible to have a profound sense of humor? Maybe I should write that he has a sense of perspective. He is a good judge, a good American, and a good man.

One can only wonder what has caused this judge's dramatic shift towards the government at this late stage of his life.

maybe Judge D should go back and learn about the Fourth Amendment. He clearly gives priority and unfair advantage to moving parties. He ha clearly hidden behind discretion to violate 'the peoples' rights. He is not worthy of the bench, or maybe this tool...is. Long story short, he is inadequate and fails to deliver justice. In fact, sometimes he waits several years to rule. Maybe at his age, he falls asleep. My advice....read the constitution before you climb onto the bench.

Despite all of the accolades I have heard regarding Judge Debevoise, I found him to be an unreasonable tool of the government. While bending overboard to appear fair, in the end he gave the government everything they wanted. Perhaps we caught him on the wrong day; perhaps his reputation is undeserved. Regardless, it is hard to imagine having achieved a worse result. Retirement cannot come too soon.

A pleasure to appear before regardless of who you represent. He treats everyone with the same degree of courtesy and respect. From the impoverished pro se litigant to the white shoe lawyer... everyone gets their fair shake in his courtroom. Remarkable ability to discern justice. A great judge and a great person.

I brought the IRS into Judge Debevoise's court on an order to show cause. The IRS was about to take money from a bank account - money that had already been paid to them through withholding. Even though I proved through simple W-2's and tax returns that the IRS was incorrect, he refused to act, elevating a presumption made by him that since they were pursuing me, they must be right, and above the evidence. 'Presumption above evidence' - that's exactly what he said! What a bad judge.

Best judge around. No question. Extremely knowledgeable, fair and unpretentious. Works hard to give timely decisions on motions. Fair and patient with all attorneys and litigants.

Smartest Judge on the Bench. Unpretentious, extremely courteous. A joy to appear before. Sharp as a needle. Only concession to tremendous longevity is a necessity to speak into microphone. May he continue in good health and may he stay on Bench for as long as he desires.
