Judge Shipp got to the bottom of a very complex case and did the best he could realizing the emotion of a case regarding both sides of the situation without bias. He looked at both sides and came to a decision that best fit not tying up time and money of the legal system, not to mention emotional toll that it takes on each side. It is unfortunate that in today's society that if you have an open check book, you can fight for the sake of fighting until people forget what you are fighting for and the toll it is taking.

This jurist is without obvious merit and seems at a loss to grasp the essence of a case and is very much of a hurry up and then wait and wait MJ. Was intellectually suspect in his analysis of facts and made statements regarding speed of decision not warranted by evidence.

Judge Shipp was the magistrate in a civil litigation. Although the litigation was at times very contentious and emotional, Judge Shipp was reasonable, even tempered, forced the parties to focus on the issues and not emotion and eagerly moved the case along to a point where the parties could appreciate the value of settlement. With Judge Shipp's help, we came up with creative ways to settle the case.

His big firm (Skadden Arps) background, prevents him from seeing that not every case is huge, and that not every law firm has endless resources, to get things done immediately particularly in a smaller matter. If you look him up on PACER he only filed one complaint in the USDC for NJ, when he was with Skadden, this probably explains both his temperament and why he does not understand, why lawyers can not drop everything to attend a conference that he has scheduled with little notice.

This is in reference to his staff. I have left three messages from Monday afternoon through Thursday trying to find out about a case against Dennis Lee. One would think it was simple to look at the computer and check the status of the case. Not so in New Jersey!
