He used to be for the people and anti-establishment, which is why Clinton appointed him. At some point after 2007, he switched sides, and now he hates consumers and loves big corporations, and switched from a Democrat to a Republican. Now, he's just a terrible judge. He's mean, disrespectful, and unpleasant to appear in front of. If you are an individual plaintiff, he will always call your complaint 'meritless.' Corporate defendants, rest easy, you will never lose in his courtroom, no matter what.

I tried a complex Civil case in front of judge Daniels recently and he was a very good judge. He was evenhanded and courteous to both sides. He also has an exellent staff.

Conducts a very fair voir dire. Does not excoriate counsel, though sometimes he should. Gives good jury instructions. A little uneven during trial, because sometimes he misperceives what is happening, and embarasses counsel in the presence of the jury. The best at letting cases go to trial and denying motions in limine. Very hard working. In person, very congenial.
