I represented the defendant in a civil case in front of Platt some years ago in diversity jurisdiction. There were several New York cases directly on point that required -- REQUIRED -- dismissal. Platt ignored them because either (1) he did not like the big city law firm I worked for or (2) he is just plain stupid. Probably a little of each.
