Received a favorable result in a civil rights matter. Judge Hurd took (from my perspective) a common sense look at the evidence in our statutory appeal and vacated the ALJ's unfavorable opinion. Many federal judges punt on deference grounds. He did not. He was prepared, pleasant and engaged at oral argument. Ruled quickly thereafter (as he said he would). A bit inflexible on scheduling.
