Civil Litigation - Private
had a routine motion to dismiss hearing that he refused to reschedule. Defense counsel was two giant law firms and they both said they didn't have an attorney available for the hearing on the motion, so they filed a request to continue. I was plaintiff's counsel and didn't care one way or the other so I stipulated to it. He denied it at 5:30 pm on a Friday (for a Monday 10 am hearing) and at the hearing spent twenty minutes ripping defense counsel up and down. Glad it wasn't me. I used to work at a firm he was a partner at (after he left for the bench) and everyone said really good things about what a lovely guy he is. Maybe, but the black robe sure is taking over.
