The critical comments about him in this listing are a little baffling to me. I've been before lots of federal judges, and I would put Pro at the top of the game. I find it unfortunate that he's essentially retired now. He ruled against me a few times, and for me a few. The thing about him is that any time he ruled against me, I never saw the order as lazy, missing the point, or even poorly reasoned. Every rule against me left me saying 'yeah, he's got a good point.' His legacy lives on pretty nicely here in that Judge Navarro was one of his clerks, and she seems to carry on his pretty great tradition. So, I for one, miss the guy being on the bench. I hope that he gets bored with retirement and takes on some cases while on senior status.
