The taxpayers get their money's worth with LOA. As a litigator, expect him to make your work harder. Not because he is pedantic, but he really is interested in your case. Your client may take little comfort in that fact, as litigation will cost a bit more if you draw him. But, as a lawyer, it feels wonderful to write briefs that the judge actually reads, and to get orders from the judge that are completely thoughtful. Even when he rules against you on a point, you find yourself nodding saying 'yeah, I see his point.' I gave a 4 for punctuality, because his orders take a long time to issue. But, when you get them, you'll see why. Instead of mailing it in, he takes as much time, and as many pages, as is necessary. He's a true scholar on the bench. If I could litigate every case before this guy, I would.
