Admittedly, I have only one experience with Judge Der-Yeghiayan. And that was him remanding my removed case when I agreed with opposing counsel to a one-week extension on our responsive pleadings without filing a stip. He had not even had the first 16(b) hearing, and he remanded with no briefing or appearance whatsoever. Yes, I was the victim of his order, but even looking at it objectively I don't see how Judge Der-Yeghiayan's order is faithful to FRCP 1 - to construe the rules for a just, speedy, and inexpensive determination of every case. Plus, I know a law clerk there who says Der-Yeghiayan is the least respected judge in the district.
