In criminal cases: mercurial. She is smart, prepared, and experienced. In terms of temperament, she sometimes is pleasant and even-handed. Other times, however, she flies into a rage, rather unexpectedly. When this happens, she is beyond reason. She takes (incorrect) positions and then digs in her heels. Instead of discussing the merits of the arguments, she personally attacks the attorneys (and unfairly so). I have actually come to the aid of my opponent in such circumstances. She is prone to harsh lecturing in which she invokes her status as an Article III judge and her apparent perfect record/judgment/performance/ethical approach as a prosecutor. She does this both to government and defense attorneys.
