This is a tough defense because it forces the defense to prove wrongdoing and puts the burden of proof on them. Forrest dismissed all of the defense's expert witnesses stating that they weren't needed (in a complex cryptography case) despite the fact that the defense claimed that their expert witnesses could prove that most of the government's evidence needed to be thrown out for violating search and seizure laws.
