Appeared before him in a civil case law and motion matter involving renewal of a judgment. He had read the briefs,listened patiently to argument from both counsel, understood the nuances of the matter, reached the correct result under the law, and his law clerks wrote a detailed and clear six page order/opinion explaining the grounds for the result. What's not to like? That said, I had another case with him @20 years ago and experienced his 'rocket docket,' for which I did not care.
