Judge Cooper does well at dealing with a morass of multiple-defendant/multiple-counsel motions that obscure more than they reveal, even in novel areas of law. Even when she rules against a party, her opinions are extremely clear and 'appealable' (in that one need not dive deeply to find the basis for her ruling). Despite the protracted proceedings in one major case before her, she maintained a good sense of humor in the courtroom--even on remand after being reversed. One pointer for counsel: If you're going to quote something, make sure you quote it accurately and in context. Judge Cooper is not averse to issuing show-cause orders sua sponte for misrepresenting authority (or, worse yet, the record!).
