It is only a matter of political winds that this judge did not end up on the Tenth Circuit or even the Supreme Court. At this stage of his brilliant judicial career, he should be an appellate judge. Even as a senior judge, he takes on a great number of cases. The most scholarly of local judges. At one point he had problems during trial, but now he is as good as it gets. Has high expectations of lawyers, and does not suffer fools all that well. Let's hope he gets the appellate position he deserves.
