Judge Kimball is much more sympathetic to the interests of corporations, insurers and employers in civil litigation than I believe is proper or justified by case law or statute. His analysis is superficial, seems to be result driven rather than the result of impartial application of relevant legal principles and I've seen him overturned in a couple of cases I've dealt with. I like Judge Kimball personally and he's a complete gentleman in oral argument. But I have been very disappointed by his unwillingness to be guided by precedential case law and the terms of the statutes at issue in the cases I've had before him. Finally, I have not been impressed by his work ethic. Many rulings, even on relatively simple and straightforward motions, take months and months to issue. I expect a lot more from a judge with his legal background and education.
