Judge Batts is an impediment to litigation. I have had a case before her for 5 years without an initial conference. After sitting on motions to dismiss for nearly three years, she issued opinions that were stunningly wrong and failed even to apply basic common sense. She appears to strive to do as little work as possible, which given the result when she does, may be a plus. If you are a plaintiff and draw her name from the wheel, think hard about never serving that complaint and filing elsewhere.
