I had Judge Bashant for a civil rights case. She was refreshingly normal. No judicial arrogance. The case settled on the eve of trial. In pretrial matters, she was very fair. More importantly, she wasn't a jerk. Opposing counsel and I had filed the wrong pretrial order prior to the pretrial conference. At the pretrial conference, she was nonchalant about the whole mis-filing,and simply asked us to come back two weeks later. She didn't scream, lecture us, or treat us as imbeciles for filing the wrong document. When we returned two weeks later, she acted as if nothing was wrong. At the pretrial conference, she followed the law. Again, very refreshing. A great judge. Would be happy to use her again.
