The Hon. John F. Walter is inflexible, follows his own local local rules, and generally makes life extremely difficult for the attorneys who practice before him. He has repeatedly denied joint stipulations filed by counsel for all of the parties that virtually every other Judge in the Central District would have granted as a matter of course. Sadly, I completely agree with the comment below that Judge Walter would rather follow his own petty rules (some of which run contrary to the FRCP) than render justice.
