I have high regard for this judge. His written work is exceptional, and in person, he is a gentleman and a fair jurist. His aura of extensive experience, scholarship, seniority, etc., make it a bit daunting to disagree with him in a settlement discussion. It's tough too, after your client has met and heard Judge Conner and his appraisal of their case, to get them to demand more that he says they're likely to get. He's fair though, and always seems very prepared.
