Walter is very smart which makes him a control freak; he is unwilling to let lawyers who know what they're doing try the case. Denies defense motions routinely, but not cavalierly--actually does the research and understands the issues. Terribly inflexible in scheduling, even in cases where the sentencing consequences are horrible and counsel show good cause for continuance.
