THE ROBING ROOM

I have a family member who was a defendant and appeared before Judge Gertner for sentencing. She was very fair considering what the Government wanted for a sentence. She saw that the defense attorney was not prepared and how it could have harmed the defendant. Instead, she sentenced on the low end of the guideline, allowed credit for time on house arrest, explained her decision in detail and had the best interest of justice for all involved as first priority. Even though there was prison time given, I found her very fair, thoughtful and an excellent judge.
