Judge Averitte is an extraordinarily good judge. He knows the law backward and forward, and is VERY thorough in everything he does, sometimes to the point of cumbersomeness. Drawbacks are that you have to personally appear for most anything, and that you'll wait a long time for rulings on dispositive motions. It's worth it in the end, however, as he always turns out exhaustive rulings that stand up on appeal.
