He's terrible. But what's the use of telling you that, unless it causes you to file in state court? Because once you have Judge Hughes, you have Judge Hughes. So, if you're here because you were just assigned Judge Hughes in a civil case, I hope that you're a large corporate defendant. He will screw you six ways to Sunday as fast as he can if you are a plaintiff. It is very clear that he disregards the law. He refuses to even let cases under certain laws go forward. He prevents a plaintiff from performing discovery before telling a large corporate employer to file an MSJ. This judge is just terrible.
