I covered a trial for a local paper over several weeks and the one thing that struck me most during that time -- Judge Wexler is OLD. And when I say OLD, I mean he honestly seems ancient. His mannerisms, timing, associations, perspectives, etc. I think it's a disservice to the system having judges this old. The cut off should be 80 for mandatory retirement. He's well beyond that. It's obvious his staff is aware, but the don't dare speak out. And I think he probably would retire, if his EGO would just let him. He's very wrapped up in his own self importance. Maybe he thinks the court house he helped to design won't last without him. He had plaques posted in the building lobby to let every one know.
