While I agree with the adherence to the Constitution, I disagree with the assessment that Madoff is not a flight risk. He has to have a sizeable stash of funds somewhere in an offshore account. And enough money can buy anything, even a flight to a country without extradition laws. I fear that given enough chance, outside of steel bars, he will be gone and thus escape justice, though true justice will never be attained in this grossly abhorrent case that has affected so many.
