Superficial is the best word that I can use to describe him. When it came to non-complex commercial litigation, he demonstrated an ability to not understand the basics of contract law. In the early 90's I had the misfortune to appear before him several times when he was at 26th. He seemed completely disinterested in the facts of the cases before him. What you would have expected from an affirmative action appointment who never ran in a contested election. Good riddance.
