I recently resolved a commercial case where Mag. Judge Randon handled the settlement conference. He was fantastic. Thorough, well-prepared, even-tempered, candid, firm when he needed to be and flexible when he could be. The bottom line is both parties went away satisfied, though both wish they'd gotten a little bit more. That's how the system should work. I have no idea how he'd function as a full-fledged federal judge, but I'm sure he'd be better than some of who sit there now. Judge Cleland should sit in on one of Randon's settlement conferences and see how a lack of bias can get cases resolved in a FAIR and equitable manner.
