I was convicted of a federal felony because, after my house burned down and my wife and I lost all of our possessions, I told a grand jury that my house burned down and I lost all of my possessions! At trial I had two prosecutors, Judge Burrell and AUSA Daniel S Linhardt. I was ridiculed at every turn by Judge Burrell while he showed great deference to lying AUSA Linhardt, who prosecuted me because I wouldn't lie to help him prosecute my brother for white-collar crime. In a pre-trial hearing Judge Burrell intimidated my paid attorney to the point that I was denied effective representation - he told my attorney that he *will* sanction him after the trial!
