He was assigned to a civil rights case I had. One of the best judges -- district or magistrate -- in the Central District. He was fair, did not let defense or their clients get away with the typical discovery shenanigans they often pull and he set the tone early on that such conduct would not do in his court. I say this even though at one point he slammed me as well on a discovery issue. But he was fair -- which is what you want at the end of the day. If you represent Plaintiffs you will breathe a sigh of relief that the Central District has a judge that actually acts like a judge and not like a second chair for the government and their lawyers. A pleasure to appear before.
