Unlike one of his colleagues who, like him, was plaintiff's counsel in private practice, he has taken off his advocate's hat and become a respected judicial officer. One of the few Magistrates that both plaintiffs and defendants will agree to allow to try their cases. Can be a bit short-tempered in trial, but I've tried a case before him and would be happy to try another. An excellent settlement judge who truly understand leverage points, when to press and when to back off.
