Really a great judge. Judge Krvaitz is the type of person you expected a judge to be when you were in law school. He is extremely bright, and knew all of the nuances of the case I had with him. He was very fair to both sides and gave the attorneys the time to present their cases. Judge Kravitz also issued his decisions in a very timely manner. Count yourself lucky if your case is assigned to him.

In my 20+ years of litigating civil cases in Connecticut's District Court he is by far the best Judge that this State has had. Most important, he issues excellent decisions within two months of the submission of a motion or the conclusion of a bench trial

I've had several matters now with Judge Kravitz, including a complex, multiple defendant drug case with issues involving 5K's, safety valve, & a thousand Motions to Withdraw. Judge Kravitz was beyond patient & good humored. He's a pleasure to appear before in both civil & criminal cases. They should all be like him.

Ditto on comment below: 'A judicial aristocrat. He is out for himself' Reports of his intelligence and being Supreme Court material are hyperbole. He has above average intelligence that suffers from arrogance. He is conventional. He demonstrates that in court and in writing but his horrendous taste in lawyers really just plain confesses it.

Smart guy but he should probably get elevated to the Court of Appeals because he has no use for trials. Acted put out when we didn't settle the case -- not that he tried to help and, in fact, threatened us 'not to settle' so as to not waste the jurors' time. Got my head handed to me for 'irresponsible water drinking' when I asked for a bathroom break 10 minutes before the day ended. Very condescending and insulting. Thought our bad faith case was beneath him, I thought.

Recently sat in on 2nd Circuit decision in NY on Fraudulent Transfer case 14 years in litigation where District Judge had flip flopped saying adequate info was there to establish cause of action for fraudulent transfer, but then mysteriously granted summary judgement to defendants. Appellate court with Honorable Judge Kravitz affirmed the NY District court but without opinion. Thus there was never any explanation for how if there is enough support for the claim it could be thrown out. The decision demanded an opinion but none was issued. Decision was rapid and just before Christmas.

Work hard to prepare. Know your record and your client. The enjoy yourself in the courtroom of a brilliant jurist and truly good human being. Judge Kravitz brings out the best in the lawyers who appear before him by consistently giving his best and modelling what we should all aspire to achieve.

Judge Kravitz is a relatively new and most junior member of the Connecticut bench. He has distinguished himself with eloquent and scholarly opinions - this guy is Supreme Court caliber. Has high regard for the rule of law and for the limited role of a federal judge. Is very smart. Only downside is that he can be unreasonable on extension requests and discovery matters but who cares if that is his only downside.

Very bright man with a sharp intellect. Is far from lazy. Even when it isn't really necessary, he will generate a lengthy, very scholarly opinion, thus leaving parties, losers and winners, believing they got his utmost attention and consideration. Treats lawyers generally with respect although he can be abrasive and abrupt which is a turn off.
