Works hard to settle cases. Quite fair and a pleasure to deal with. Judge Go is also flexible and fair with respect to dicovery scheduling.

Obviously has no civil case experience. Oblivious as to expert witness testimony as it pertains to mental health situations. Says that visiting a psychologist is akin to visiting a physician. Highly coercive in settlements: 'You have an untenable position'; 'You didn't offer anything'. Inflexible in altering her deadlines. Favors politically correct social causes and crafts her stewardship of a case around those causes. Also favors large law firms. Will assist her favored winner by precluding evidence adverse to the winner by saying 'X made no showing of how admissible evidence will be adduced'. Really deserves to remain a magistrate judge handling discovery matters. Alternatively, send her back to private practice so she can develop some skills.

Recently concluded a settlement in a civil rights case involving a woman wrongly arrested and locked up for 20 days until the lab test finally came back negative. She worked diligently to achieve a settlement with no apparent bias. Took the time to learn the facts, kept an even temper, and knew how far to push. Overall a good experience.

I have had nearly a dozens matters before Judge Go. She is fair and even-handed. She does push hard for the parties to settle and she is helpful in her settlement conferences. I really don't have a sense of her tendencies - plaintiffs or defendants. Judge Go is relaxed in extending deadlines, provided that the parties are working towards something.

Thorough, thoughtful and considerate. She's extrememly intelligent but does not try to impress. Very interested in helping litigants find common ground. Handles uppity, egotistical prosecutors very well.

This judge has a reputation for putting a lot of effort into settling cases. She is willing to spend the time and conduct as many settlement conferences as necessary, if the parties want to pursue settlement. I've found her to be good at it. She's smart, has a lot of experience with civil cases, and tends to be all-business. With discovery, she will extend deadlines more readily than some others in the EDNY, so that the case stays focused on the merits rather than any deficiencies by counsel. I'd be happy to have her as a judge in future cases.
