Really needs to retire. Waste of government resources and the parties' time and resources.

Laziest Magistrate Judge in the Southern District. Does not even read any papers. She is completely unfair and only interested in getting cases of her docket. Just downright awful in all respects. Her orders are also laughable in terms of her complete INattention to detail.

The only attorney I know who has not had a problem with her is a criminal defense attorney who yelled at her in open court and walked out when she was still speaking. Why does it have to be that way? If you are civil, she tries to walk all over you.

I can understand why some people have trouble with Judge Porter. She is pushy - but then, that is part of her job. The first time that I was in front of her, I walked away feeling that she was unfair. Since then, I have started to change my opinion. She is a little rough with people at times, but if you stand up to her, and don't back down, and don't allow her to pressure you into positions you feel are inadequate, she backs off. I'm starting to like her.

The worst Magistrate Judge, correction, the worst judge I've dealt with in over 20 years in practice. Clearly biased in favor of plaintiff's bar. Inappropriate and often too familiar with the attorneys. Lacks respect for attorneys. Sometimes comes in late for hearings with Nordstrom bags under her arms. Mercurial and inconsistent. One never knows if they will get the good Porter or the bad Porter until the hearing begins.
