Wow, this is a great magistrate, and he would be a very good federal judge. He is always prepared, and is extremely intelligent. He is courteous and respectful, and makes practicing in federal court a pleasure.

Judge Scoville is an excellent magistrate judge and I wish he would have been appointed in Judge Neff's position. (If anything she should be the magistrate - if not his clerk.) Judge Scoville is a fair and open person, who knows how to write an opinion and while on the conservative side, he applied fair and equal justice to all.

An excellent Magistrate, capable of being an Article III Judge, and twice rated highest among all judicial candidates for open position, but lack of political clout kept him at Magistrate level.

I as a Pro Se litigant in Federal Court was very worried. But Judge Scoville has treated me with the utmost respect the few times I have went before him. He has complimented me on my professionalism as well as treated me as well as he did defense counsel

I think Joe Scoville is involved with the Acton organizaton...a conservative organization composed largely of Catholics. So his rulings are likely to be on the conservative side. However, Joe is a great magistrate who treats all litigants and lawyers respectfully. He is smart and a master of the written word. It is too bad he has not been appointed to a federal judgeship.

This judge thinks consumer cases are a waste of the courts time and we were told to get rid of it
