If you have been victimized by a snake oil salesman don't let this judge anywhere near you arbitration case. On the other hand, if you are a crook and scumbag and liar you will love this judge.

Do not let him arbitrate a construction case. He has no understanding of codes, architectural plans and showed evident partiality and exceeding his powers in a nonsensical decision where he actually, by his absurd statements, showed he changed a contract's wording and architectural plans. I think he has an obvious bias and showed some metal confusion. Avoid this poser if you are a plaintiff.

Agree with other comments that he is totally biased against plaintiffs. He was so biased that he dismissed an entire case in reference to a school district abusing a handicapped child, when there were witnesses and clear and concise evidence of abuse!!

I've been in front of him his entire 20 plus year career as a district court magistrate. He was real open minded and helpful in the beginning of his career but now he's obviously burned out. I'd be surprised if he doesn't retire soon.

Extremely harsh on plaintiff's employment counsel. shows bias in favor of defense counsel--especially from large firms. permits egregious discovery violations by defense counsel, and imposes extremely punitive sanctions on plaintiff's counsel where defense counsel stonewalls.

This Magistrate is openly biased against Plaintiff's in insurance cases. An investigation should be conducted into the Magistrate permitting his clerks to write opinions; not surprisingly, his clerks get prize jobs at insurance defense firms.

The Magistrate needs to improve his prejudicial treatmentin favor of insurance defense. In the case of Garcia v Berkshire Life Insurance, docket confirms that the Magistrate overstepped his authority to hear a dispositive motion, in his court, without consent of the parties. The docket further confirms that the Magistrate allowed defense to reschedule a settlement conference to the day before the dispositive motions hearing. During settlement the Magistrate failed to maintain an evidentiary record, as the rules require. Worse, during the settlement hearing, Magistrate proceeded to pressure the disabled plaintiff into a shamefully inadequate settlement. (See affidavit of lawyer, Jeffrey Nobel in support of Motion to Recuse. It's likely the defense prejudiced the Magistrate with manipulation; however, the appearance of bias in strong.

As in-house counsel for an insurance company, I see a lot of highly biased judges. This is not one. He is courteous, fair, intelligent, and works to make the parties settle because they understand the risks, rather than because they've been bullied by the judge.

Clearly an intelligent and organized person. However, he seems to confuse punctuality and decisiveness with sound case management. As a result, his rulings on procedural matters in a complex construction case have been novel and simplistic and have cost the parties tens of thousands of dollars in unnecessary legal expense.

Smart, diligent, practical: you could not do better. Extremely well prepared so you better not speak without thinking ahead. Yes, too lenient with discovery abusers, but he probably sees that as evenhandedness.

Was excellent in mediation. Worked very hard to settle case. Was fair to both sides, and was creative in working with the parties to reach an agreeable settlement.
