Works hard, but tends to put her thumb on the scales of justice. Seems pro-plaintiff in civil cases, but maybe she just wants to help the perceived underdog, whoever that may be. Acts more like a player than a referee, because she wants to do more than just call balls and strikes.

Judge was very evenhanded in a mediation I attended, and she worked hard (and effectively) to get both parties to see the shortcomings of their cases. I'm an in-house counsel for an insurer, and I have had to deal with many overbearing judges whose only interest is in settling cases, irrespective of the merits. She is not one of them. Personally, too, very easy to deal with, no ego to speak of. Would be happy to deal with her in every case.

In civil cases, plaintiffs beware. Shoots from the hip. Ego easily bruised.
