I've appeared before him when he was chief justice of the Third Court of Appeals for the State of Texas, and also as a U.S. District Judge. He has great judicial temperament and is impeccably fair.

Judge Lee Yeakel is an awful Judge. He cares more about his docket than fairness to the litigants - preferring settlement over fair hearing and reading of the law. He can not handle complex technical cases - it overwhelms him. He is pro-plaintiff to the extent he wants defendants to pay money, regardless of merit, for the case to go away. He should retire.

He's a very pleasant man, very courteous and is not hard to try a case before him. However, he shows a distinct leaning towards plaintiffs in civil cases, and his evidentiary rulings show it.

I have tried several cases before Judge Yeakel and he is among the best judges, state or federal, I have worked with. He is bright, usually correct, and consistently fair to both sides. And he lets you try your case, good or bad.

Yeakel has a perfect judicial temperment. My only complaint is that he can take too long to decide things. It is a pleasure to appear in his court and I think I measure all federal judges against his benchmark in my mind.

An excellent and well-respected judge, well-liked by the bar. A great judge, who believes in jury trials and does not resolve cases on motions. Hard to find a better judge. I've had many cases in front of him, and he's always been courteous and fair. He is also a pleasant person and engaging.

I appeared before Judge Yeakel when he was an appellate judge on the Texas Court of Appeals in Austin. I have also had some contact with Judge Yeakel at community functions. He has impressed me as a judge and person.
