The judge is very thoughful and even-handed in his decision-making process and flexible when it comes to acommodating schedules (within reason). He understands both civil and criminal litigation and it's a surprise that he hasn't yet been elevated to the Article III bench. He is an example of why practicing in the EDNY is a joy -- he focuses on what's important to the parties, spots issues that no one else sees and is patient but firm in his approach. He treats all parties as if they have the most important case on his docket and he takes the time to truly listen to parties before he rules.

Judge Reyes is a gentleman. The Judge is professional in his demeanor, open minded, and fair. The Judge has a great ability to handle complex litigation. The Judge is an asset to his profession, and wish we had more Judges like him.

Judge Reyes is courteous to counsel, thoughtful in his approach, and listens well. He's also smart as a whip. He seems to embrace the idea that counsel often will understand a case better than a judge, as they are immersed in a way a judge with a busy docket cannot be; and this lack of arrogance advances the interests of all the parties, as it produces a more sensible, orderly, efficient hearing. A pleasure to appear before.

Relatively new to the bench. Still struggling to grasp the concept of judicial temperament. Not quite top drawer in terms of legal scholarship. Has a tendency to shoot from the hip. Barely disguised contempt for the plaintiff's bar.
